Tour and Taste

The Freedom Experience is nothing short of an adventure for old vine wine lovers looking for total immersion in the Barossa region. Situated on the site of one of the Barossa's earliest German settlements, Langmeil Winery is the perfect setting for this comprehensive 2 to 3-hour tour. Limited to 8 people per tour unless by prior arrangement.

The Freedom Experience must be booked with Cellar Door prior to attending. Tours are offered from Monday to Friday and due to high demand, we suggest booking well in advance. Ideally, you should have several dates and times in mind when making enquiries. If we are unable to accommodate your dates and times we will refund your payment.

Your experience begins with an explanation of the region's geography, settlement and broader agricultural history. Next, we move on to viticulture and a visit to what is believed to be the world's oldest surviving Shiraz vineyard. After viewing the old vines and discussing vineyard practices, the focus shifts to the winemaking process to enhance your appreciation of the tasting experience to follow. You will retire to the privacy and ambience of the "Freedom Cellar" for the sampling and stories of our Old Vine Garden Collection.
